History

Heather Clarke started Allegro in early 2002 having trained in music (opera) and having performed vocally and dramatically, both here and in Europe. Back in Melbourne in 2001, with an expired visa, she began work in a marketing agency and became aware of the need for quality entertainment options for the events that were being run by the agency's event department. With strong contacts and her musical background, she decided to leave the agency and started Allegro. Initially, the focus was on providing quality classical and jazz music for corporate events and weddings. The first round of auditions began, and Allegro was away - the marketing agency being one of its first clients.

Since then, Allegro expanded its offering to provide a full event entertainment solution. Visual artists, celebrities, actors, DJs, mainstream and cover bands and dancers joined the agency, alongside the existing classical and jazz artists.

Production (AV) came next.

Finally, long-term clients began asking Allegro to assist with their events in their entirety. From dinners on stage in theatres to treetops parties on grass-covered stages, Allegro has been really lucky to have worked with some amazing clients on some very exciting events.

Allegro is also thrilled to be the sole preferred entertainment supplier to Peter Rowland Catering and its venues (The NGV [International], The Ian Potter Centre - NGVA), The Melbourne Museum, Gardens House, Chapter House, Rippon Lea, the Port Melbourne Yacht Club.) The same relationship is enjoyed with Ed Dixon Food Design.
