Gypsy Street
Gypsy Street presents the finest in Le Jazz Hot, French gypsy jazz in the infectious style of Django Reinhardt and The Hot Club of France. Elegant swing , tender jazz ballads, gypsy waltzes and hot rhythm are just a few of the trademark sounds. The band plays in a trio setting (two guitars and double bass with vocals) and adds violin, clarinet or female vocals to augment their sound as the occasion requires. Formed over three years ago the group has built a steadily growing following and reputation as one of the best jazz bands in Melbourne.

La Mauvaise Reputation recreate the music of 20s, 30s and 40s Paris with verve, passion and attention to detail. They have a full repertoire, mostly sung in the original French, with a focus on the songs of Trenet, Piaf, Gainsbourg and inspired by the gypsy swing style of Django Reinhardt. The trio consists of vocals, guitar and double bass. Dependent on venue size, the music is usually performed acoustically wherever possible, ensuring that it is always at the right level.
